The first thing that can help you decide is the price. Language learning programs can range up to the five or six hundred dollar range. That is a whole lot of money to pay just for some software. There are much cheaper software programs that are equally as good. If you are just starting out, you might even want to try a free program. Learning a language can be a big time commitment, you should make sure you are up to the challenge before you fork out the dough.

Try a free program. The downside of the free programs is that you will probably be finished in a week, and only learn some basic vocabulary. The benefit is that you will know if you want to continue with speaking French. If you do, and I'm sure you will, then graduate yourself to one of the software programs.

French Learning Suite is a popular program developed by Transparent Languages. French Learning Suite is a complete guide to the French language. It contains over 60,000 vocabulary words, an electronic dictionary, and samples of native French speakers. This allows you to work on your accent as well as your vocabulary. French Learning Suite is a compilation of many different French Learning programs developed by Transparent Languages. This might make it hard for some people to follow and track progress.

For the same price, 100 bucks, you could also try RocketFrench. Rocket French is another French language Learning program, but RocketFrench is almost completely audio focused. This is the new trend in teaching foreign languages. Developed by Rocketlanguages, you can try Rocket french at www.rocketlanguages.com before you buy it.
